Kettle Cuisine Gluten Free Soups!
I was introduced to Kettle Cuisine soups at a gluten free vendor fair in 2010. I met Lorna and she told me the story of how the soups came to be... a real family story, a recipe for love, I'd say. I like that.

I tried the soups, and I liked them as much as I liked Lorna and her soup story.

Have you tried these yet? No?! What are you waiting for? These soups are FANTASTIC!

My favorite... Thai Chicken Curry!

New England Clam Chowder

Because I make almost everything from scratch, I don't buy pre-made foods. They just don't taste like homemade...at least most don't.

But Kettle Cuisine soups really do taste like homemade soups, fresh and delish, with real ingredients. You won't believe them until you try them!

There are 10 different gluten free chef-inspired gluten free soups to choose from, so you're bound to find YOUR favorite soup!

How about Roasted Vegetable, Southwestern Chicken and Corn Chowder, or Organic Mushroom and Potato

Love chili? Then you must try the Angus Beef Steak Chili with Beans... you will NOT be disappointed!!

Just check out the freezer section of your supermarket to see all the varieties Kettle Cuisine offers... Can't find them? Ask! That's how we get these fantastic gluten free products in our grocery stores so they're easy to find!

They even offer dairy free, vegetarian, and low fat soup options for those of us who are more than just gluten free.
And I want you to try these soups!! So do the nice folks at Kettle Cuisine. That's why we've teamed up to give one lucky winner a soup-er gift package of Kettle Cuisine gluten free soups.

On my morning walk with Mr. GFGigi, the honeysuckle & blackberries are in bloom!
I cannot believe our April dinners are no more. I had so much fun sharing a month of my family's meals with you - all of them - even the not-so-stellar ones. I've had several people ask what's next? and honestly, my first reaction was back to the same ol' same ol'.

But the closer we came to the end of Now Gigi Serves Dinner!, the more I realized that I will miss you stopping by and taking a look around, commenting, and the chats we've shared here, on Facebook, and on Twitter. You've kind of become part of the family during the past 4 weeks, and I'd like to keep it that way. I mean, I really appreciate how faithful some of you have been.

And then I started thinking that I'd really like to thank you. You know, I'd like to send you on a grand vacation to some breathtakingly gorgeous destination so that you could experience a new food culture. Or send you chocolates. Or an elegant new addition to your kitchenwares collection. I'd like to give you something that would make living gluten- and allergy-free easier for you so that you could further enhance your good health.

Aren't they gorgeous? You have no idea how excited I was when the box containing these elegant pewter measuring spoons and stand arrived last week! I knew how beautiful they looked in the catalog photos, but oh, my goodness! When I actually saw them in person, I immediately realized what all the fuss is about when it comes to Crosby & Taylor pewter products! I couldn't wait to use mine...

Crosby & Taylor pewter turns baking into an elegant affair!
Funny how one item, seemingly a small part of the experience, can transform your baking into an elegant affair.

Note the detail on the spoons as well as the stand. It's unmistakably Crosby & Taylor!
What began as an adventurous acquisition of a friend's pewter studio has turned into a 25 year dedication to producing the finest pewter and ceramic pieces for your kitchen (not to mention the adorable children's gift items!).

Holding these durable measuring spoons, you will feel the craftmanship in each piece. In my set, with the lovely Vineyard design, you will notice the handles are curled grapevines, and the inside and out bear the intricate deatil of beautiful grapes. Displayed on my kitchen counter, these measuring spoons lure me in, making me want to mix a batch of muffins, create a cake, bake bread, just to be able to use them!

And I want you to have a set, too. Fortunately the nice folks at Crosby & Taylor agree. So, thanks to them, we have our first GIVEAWAY of this a-MAY-zing month – a set of fine American made, lead-free pewter measuring spoons and post in my favorite Vineyard design.

Stephanie Johnson, publisher of Up in Cumming(R) magazine (left) & me at the Taste of Forsyth on Saturday
The food fair that I told you about last week was on Saturday, and it was a huge success! I was completely surprised by the number of people who stopped by our table to talk about the gluten-free allergy-aware lifestyle. There were dozens - many with Celiac Disease - so this was such a treat to be able to represent the gluten-free community in this way alongside my friends at Up in Cumming magazine. I lost count of how many times I said "1 in 133" in the 9 hours we were there - no one that I spoke to had heard about it, but everyone I told took down the web address and seemed genuinely interested in supporting gluten-free food labeling.

The fruffles and lemon bars that I lured them in with didn't seem to hurt interest, either!

Every story of the road to diagnosis that I heard touched me, but one in particular made a distinct impression. It was of a young girl, now 10, who became ill at 4 years old. Doctors could not determine the cause of her many health issues and her mother had to take matters into her own determined hands and research symptoms for an answer. Fortunately, for this girl, her mother found the right answer, and the right doctor, and got her diagnosis. This family was beaming as they shared the story of what a different child she is now. We talked cake - birthday cake, specifically - and flour blends and how this family has gone gluten-free for their child. I love those stories.

People like this beautiful little girl and her family are why I write this blog and post recipes, and why I am sharing dinners during April. I want to demonstrate just how easy it can be to live this gluten-free lifestyle and not feel deprived, no matter how overwhelming the diagnosis is at first.

Now, I know you're hungry, so let's get to it! Here's your menu:

Marinated Portabella Mushrooms stuffed with Quinoa Flakes & Veggies & "Cheese"(spinach, artichokes, shallots, vegan "mozzarella")

Potato Puffs (made with leftover mashed potatoes & cauliflower)

Chicken on a stick for the meat eaters

Chocolate Mega Chunk Blondies(the mega chunks are from my friends at Enjoy Life Foods)

Please visit my Contributors to check out all the wonderful products that I use for our meals!

For this meal, my friends at Whole Foods Market~Alpharetta Harry's provided all the fresh veggies, frozen spinach, chicken, and marinade ingredients. King Arthur Flour provided the gluten-free multipurpose flour for the cookies, and Enjoy Life Foods provided the Mega Chunks for the Blondies - the recipe is on the back of the Mega Chunks bag. I'll also be trying the Mega Chunks in this RECIPE for my Chocolate Chip Cookies. I'll just substitute the Mega Chunks for the chocolate chips called for in my recipe. Thanks to all my contributors! Now, for the meal...
