I hardly know where to begin. My visit to Fuego Mundo this week ranks at the pinnacle of my dining out experiences for the year to date.

With every entree and side naturally gluten- and dairy-free, and no nuts used (there's soy only in tofu selections and a few sauces), my dining experience began the way I like them to - relaxed and worry-free.
And you must know, with my passion for Austim Awareness and advocacy, I was completely jazzed to find a place where parents of children on a gluten-free-casein-free diet could feel comfortable dining out! Way to go Fuego Mundo!

With help from the awesome, knowledgeable staff and the co-owner, Masha Hleap-Hershkovitz, I had healhty, allergen-free South American fare that can't be matched in an exciting artsy setting!
Tapas ~ Spicy Chicken Sausage & Yucca Fries
Starting with a couple of fantastic Tapas is the way to go at Fuego Mundo! Whatever you do, do not miss the Yucca Fries! For years I've been a fan of yucca, not only for it's versatility and flavor, but also for it's anti-inflammatory properties, but I have never had yucca like this. There simply are no words to describe this dish - just go grab some for yourself!

And how about those gluten- and dairy-free entrees and sides? There's steak, chicken, and fish all prepared in a variety of flavorful ways on the fantastic wood-fire grill, which is an attraction all on its own!
You see all that Fuego Mundo passion on a plate? All mine, baby!
Vegan? No problem! See that fabulous dish next to my entree? That's the Veggie Lover's Stir-Fry, which is, along with ALL Fuego Mundo sides, vegan!
With so many satisfying substitutions for vegan diners, you're sure to find alternatives that are healthy and delicious, which means there's something for EVERYONE at Fuego Mundo!
And when you order up a hearty Organic Tofu Steak, there's no reason to worry about cross-contamination with the grilled meats because your steak will be grilled separately for your protection!
Cross-contamination is a big deal to Masha and her staff; so much so that Fuego Mundo uses separate fryers to keep their diners safe. So, the Natural Chicken Tenders on the kids' menu are fried in a totally different fryer than those out-of-this-world Yucca Fries.
I would tell you that your safety is #1 on Masha's list, but I can't. That's because on her list, there's a tie for first place: Your safety AND your health are her top priority.
Through years of experience gained from her own journey to improved health, Masha has learned what many of us have - diet is key to optimal health for body and mind. Because of her caring nature, she has poured out her passion onto the plate, and is serving it up for you and me, offering the best quality, phenomenal prices, and generous portions of exciting South American food right here in metro-Atlanta.

But Masha, being the "real deal", as I call her, isn't stopping her quest for the best. Beginning on Monday, May 23, Fuego Mundo "Just Got Healthier!" with grass-fed beef, all-natural chicken, kosher meats, and even more organic offerings - still gluten- and dairy-free and always vegan-friendly!
You thought Fuego Mundo was closed on Mondays? Not anymore! Now you can get your week off to a healthy start with some wood-fired goodness like never before! Why the change? Fuego Mundo will begin closing on the Jewish Shabbat, which is observed from (roughly) sunset on Friday until sunset on Saturday - in other words - closed on Saturdays.
While this may seem to be a shocking change to some, Masha and her staff are working hard to make the best choices they know how, and to embrace everyone in our metro-Atlanta community (and beyond!). And that's what makes them so special - the heart that goes into all things at Fuego Mundo.
