Cheers! To a Healthy, Happy Gluten Free New Year!

Happy 2012!

Here’s to YOU for being here and entering this New Year with me!

I don't look back on what was, or what might have been, but I do look back at food. I can't help myself. It's fun to remember what we were eating this time last year!

So many fun, delish gluten free recipes were added to the site last year!

Last December ended with a product review (see all my product reviews!) of a variety of Enjoy Life Foods
A favorite creative use of their No Nuts Mountain Mambo Trail Mix was putting it in my Gluten Free Scones for an entirely new taste!

For another scrumptious scone recipe and a useful how-to video on exactly how to make them, check out my Gluten Free Ginger Scones, too! Either of these would make a fantastic, quick, easy, gluten free New Year's Day breakfast (OK... we're sleeping in... make that brunch!).

2011 began with what has become one of the most popular recipes I have ever developed... my Gluten Free Cornbread! So simple to put together and so often requested, not many weeks went by in the past year that I didn’t make a pan of this savory bread. I hope you had a chance to try it! If not, now’s the perfect time...

Pair it with your favorite soup, or try it with my New Year’s Day meal of Twisted Hoppin’ John Soup for a warming bowl of prosperity to start the year off right!

Another way to get this New Year off to a terrific start is by joining me for a month of reNEWal. To find out more, you can read about our January reNEWal here.

You can also join me in the kitchen and try more of my gluten free recipes to see how tasty living gluten free can be!

Just like this fun cocktail recipe...

Let's make a Gluten Free Shandy!

Gluten Free Shandy Cocktail

Makes 2, because cocktails are for sharing!

1 1/2 cups ginger ale (
I enjoy Q Ginger* ginger ale.)
1 Gluten Free beer (
I drink St. Peter's Sorghum Beer* from the UK.)
2 Tablespoons frozen limeade (Like MinuteMaid)
2 wedges lemon
*available at Whole Foods Markets
Combine ginger ale, beer, and limeade in a small pitcher. Stir gently. Divide between 2 cocktail glasses. Garnish each with a lemon wedge.

Cheers!
