If possible, these words would burst through the screen with excitement!

They would take you by the hand, whisk you into my kitchen, and introduce you to my new partner in food...

Reader, meet Red Hot Momma!

RHM, say "HELLO" to our guest!

She just arrived a week ago, and we’re already best friends!

She has it all… sleek, compact design, an impeccable sense of style, and she’s tireless in the kitchen!   This RHM can blend!

I haven’t introduced you until now because I wanted her all to myself. We spent our first few days together getting acquainted... just the two of us.

I already knew a lot about her from months of researching the question plaguing the health conscious and foodies the world over:  “Blendtec or Vita-Mix?”  (I'll share more about answering THAT all-important question in upcoming posts.)

Of course, no amount of research replaces hands-on experience!  We started slow with cool concoctions like shaved ice and sno-cones.

Shaved ice in under 30 seconds!

For her “welcome” party, we whipped up several salsas and dips, including this spicy Red Bean Hummus (in honor of her flaming exterior, of course!)

Salsa Verde & Spicy Red Bean Hummus... both ready in less than 1 minute!

By that time, we were blending like old friends!

Lucky for me, she's a dairy free gal, too!  She also understood when I told her she would never have nuts, soy, or gluten whirling in either of her spacious square jars. (That's right... we have TWO of Blendtec's fabulous vessels!)  We hit it off right away!

The time had come for... CHOCOLATE!
You must understand, I’ve contemplated a rich Dairy Free Chocolate Mousse for some time. The idea comes and goes. RHM brought it up again.

She claimed she could have a decadent chocolate mousse ready to chill in less than a minute.  She also claimed we could do it without eggs... making it VEGAN! It was a bet... I grabbed our ingredients!

She won the bet (I know it will be the first of many!)... the Dairy Free, make that Vegan(!), Chocolate Mousse she made was incredible!

I know you’ll want to make this indulgent, silky mousse, too. You don't have to have a Blendtec but, honestly, RHM is quite a machine and a true pleasure to use.

No one will EVER guess it's dairy free!
Dairy Free - Make That Vegan(!) - Chocolate Mousse

Gluten Free, Soy Free, Nut Free

3/4 cup light coconut milk (from a can)
1 cup Enjoy Life Foods chocolate chips

1/4 cup Earth Balance Soy Free Buttery Spread
2 Tablespoons agave nectar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
pinch salt

Shake the can of coconut milk before opening. Combine coconut milk and chocolate chips in a saucepan over low heat. Stir as the chocolate melts. Remove from heat and set aside.

Add buttery spread, agave, vanilla, and salt to your Blendtec blender. Pour chocolate mixture in, place the lid on, and hit "Smoothie".

In less than 1 minute, your decadent dairy free chocolate mousse will be ready to pour into four 6-ounce ramekins.

Chill mousse for 2 hours before serving.  Enjoy!

~g~
Rest assured you'll be hearing a lot more from the two of us. We're practically inseparable!

xo,
Gigi and RHM!

Isn't it just amazing the things you can do with a Blendtec?!

Oh, 3 times a day... AT LEAST! You know what I really love? How easy these babies clean up! A piece of (gluten free) cake!

Thanks for stopping by for the "meet & greet" ;)

Chrystal,

I can't wait to share my comparison post with you! I spent months researching and talking to folks about which machine would be better for me.

Of course, while they are both fabulous machines, I'm sure, I figured out that I'm definitely a Blentec girl! ;)

Thanks so much for the kind words! I absolutely adore my readers and to have you say such nice things about the site made my entire week!!!

Can't wait to see you back here!

Gigi

Hi, Kim!

Isn't she the BEST?? I love red, too! My Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer is "90th anniversary red", so it only seemed right that RHM be red, too! :)

And we have SO enjoyed our time together! I can't wait to share, share, share all the fun things we've made! I'm exploring Vegan, Raw Foods, and of course, the many CHOCOLATE creations we can make! ;)

The mousse is too easy and absolutely d-lish!

SO happy you stopped by!

Gigi

Yippee for your RHM!!! Now we'll have even more fantastic recipes from Gigi, ones like this chocolate mousse--heaven! I didn't think that was possible to have better recipes from you, but now that you have RHM to help you, why not? ;-) My kitchen is done in red and green, and no, it doesn't look like a Christmas tree. LOL

Holy crap! That looks amazing! My wife and I just got our food sensitivity test results back, and we're both sensitive to gluten, soy, and eggs - and I'm also sensitive to dairy. So this post is FANTASTIC for me, because every one of my teeth are sweet teeth!

Thank you so much for posting this - I'm glad Blendtec retweeted you. I'll be following you and checking up on your blog from now on!

Oh, Shirley...

A red & green kitchen sounds DIVINE to me! Two of my favorites (of course, purple ALWAYS comes first in the way of favorite colors!).

The red appliances just happened, but they are pleasing to me when I'm in the kitchen creating... the energy of red, perhaps?

I don't know if I'll get "better" or more creative, but I'll guarantee you I'll be faster now that RHM is on the scene! That gal is fast!! ;)

Thanks for stopping in for the welcome!

Casey,

I'll take that "Holy Crap!" as a complement any day! :)

I think you and your wife will find yourselves (and your food allergies) right at home here at Gluten Free Gigi!

I do not have an egg allergy, but I do try to keep them out of my baking as much as possible. Of course, you won't see gluten, dairy , or soy here! Those are off limits in my home!

Your sweet teeth will are gonna' be happy here!

Thanks for stopping by, for following, and for that awesome website you have! I'm living a RICH LIFE, too! ;)

Come back for a visit soon... and bring your wife to browse, too!

xo,
Gigi

Hey Gigi!

I LOVE RHM! I'm sure the other appliances are officially jealous because she's got to be the sexiest appliance in the kitchen! I did receive my VitaMix, and though I love it now, I had a little trouble getting adjusted to it in the beginning. The buttons on the Blendtec just seem so much easier and the fact that it stops on its own is cool. I also saw a video where you can install it into your counter top, even more awesome. Okay, let me stop before I make my VitaMix jealous. I would love to hear your review on them.

All the Best,
Angela
