Dairy-Free Queso {Cheese Dip}

Whether you eat a plant-based diet, have a dairy allergy or adhere to the gluten-free casein-free (GFCF) diet for autism, a tasty “cheese” dip like my Dairy-Free Queso {Cheese Dip} is a must-have recipe.

This simple “cheesy” sauce is great with nachos or for dipping crispy fresh veggies. Everyone will love it, and no one misses out on the creamy, cheesy goodness!

Dairy-Free Queso {Cheese Dip}

Free from: gluten, dairy/casein, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, eggs.
  • 1 cup Daiya mozzarella shreds (You could use the Cheddar or Pepper Jack varieties, too, but the mozzarella gives the queso the “expected” look since it is white.)
  • ½ cup milk (I use unsweetened coconut milk; use any milk you like.)
  • 1 Tablespoon fat (Use dairy-free butter substitute or other fat of choice.)
  • ½ - 1 teaspoon very finely diced jalapeno pepper, optional and to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  1. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan.
  2. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until Daiya begins to melt.
  3. Reduce heat to low and whisk occasionally until mixture is smooth, about 4 minutes.
  4. Transfer to serving bowl. Serve warm.
  5. Makes about 1 cup.
