"Real Facts You Need to Know about
Dairy's Negative Impacts on Your Health"
This month Gigi presents real facts you need to know about dairy’s negative impacts on your health... especially if you are gluten free.
Most of us have always heard dairy is essential to our good health.
Unfortunately, that information is biased.
It comes to us through ads like those in campaign touting milk that we all know. The nation’s milk producers, who admit their ads are designed to “stimulate awareness and demand for milk”, fund that campaign.
The truth is, if you’ve been getting your milk, you’ve probably also been getting...
· Inflammation
· Sinus problems
· Bloating, gas, and other gastrointestinal discomfort
· An increased risk of osteoporosis and certain cancers
Did you know...
Research published in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association estimates 75% of the world’s population loses the ability to completely digest lactose after infancy?
Harvard School of Public Health recommends limiting dairy intake because high intakes of dairy products are associated with an increased risk of prostate and ovarian cancers?
And that’s if you don’t have other health issues.
If you have Celiac disease and consume dairy products, this information is of particular importance! Here’s why:
· Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder that causes an inflammatory response in the small intestine. Dairy causes inflammation and can exacerbate this condition.
· Celiac disease and lactose intolerance are directly connected. Damage to the villi of the small intestine from Celiac disease can lead to lactose intolerance.
· Celiac disease is linked to increased incidence of osteoporosis, and certain proteins in dairy products are actually known to weaken our bone structure, further increasing the risk of brittle bones.
· Research in neuroimmunology indicates a cross-reactivity between gluten and casein, one of the proteins in dairy products. If an individual has a negative reaction to one of these proteins, it is likely they will have a negative reaction to the other. Given what scientists are discovering, avoiding both gluten and casein is a wise, safe, and practical move on the path toward helping you to improve your health.
After hearing Gigi's research-based, easy-to-understand explanations, you will be grateful for your new awareness of what consuming dairy might be doing to your health.
Gluten Free Gigi will also show you practical actions you can take to remove dairy from your diet without feeling deprived!

Gluten Free Gigi Studies the Dairy Research
&
Harvard Surprises the Public
Last September, Gigi wrote an “A Side of Science” article titled “Living Dairy Free Means Living Longer” for the gluten free community.
It was based on research she studied during two years of living dairy free for health reasons. In the article, Gigi touched on some of the potentially harmful effects consuming dairy can have. Some readers found Gigi's article controversial. It certainly didn't agree with conventional wisdom.
Gigi stood her ground and stood behind her article. She knew what she had written was well-founded in sound scientific research.
Then Harvard’s School of Public Health released a statement. The School reported that dairy is not a necessary part of a healthy diet. The School went on to say that high dairy consumption is associated with certain cancers.
Harvard researchers and nutritionists even addressed the shortcomings of the United States Department of Agriculture’s new Food Plate dietary guidelines.
Gigi’s report mirrored what Harvard scientists eventually released... She wrote, “...the dairy "satellite" [of the USDA Food Plate] is easy to “detach” if you’re dairy free like me...because it's not so critical [to a healthy diet].”

And That Lead to Gigi's Three-Month Experiment...
Gluten Free Gigi, a trained neuroscientist, finally decided to test the effects of consuming dairy on herself.
She knew the topic was important and wanted to analyze first-hand what consuming dairy could do.
On October 1, 2011, after not eating dairy for two years, she started eating dairy again on a controlled schedule. She carefully documented, daily, the changes she saw in her body and how she felt.
On January 6, 2012, she stopped. She could not endure the ill effects of dairy any longer. The experiment continued, though. For the next three weeks she tracked the changes in her body and her well-being.
In these frames from her How-To videos, you can see the dramatic transformation her body underwent...
