The owner of the company my husband works for forbids anyone bring green bean casserole to the company holiday meals at their office. Seriously. Apparently he had some bad run-ins with those limp canned “French style” green beans (and take my word for it, those are NOT French style) and canned cream of mushroom soup.
I can understand. I was never a fan of that overly salty, mushy mess of a dish. But this dish, with real fresh beans, a homemade mushroom sauce and crispy shallots on top, this is holiday worthy. Continue Reading
